#CaseChoice: Solid Rechargeable Table Light

By Nicky Rampley-Clarke

Every month, we shine a spotlight on the small but perfectly formed designs from Case that have developed something of a cult following, enabling you to take a little piece of the brand home without breaking the bank. This month? The Solid Rechargeable Table Light, a luxurious portable light that combines form and function to spectacular effect, featuring a smart cordless design and stunning marble exterior. Shine on.

The topline

The Solid Rechargeable Table Light proves yet again that the aesthetics of portable lamps this summer’s biggest trend – have come on leaps and bounds. It’s a timely update on our Solid Table Light, a favourite in its own right, that enables you to add a little atmosphere to your al fresco space this summer. Crafted from premium materials and featuring a cordless design, it’s as practical as it is pretty, while each piece is completely unique. Shop it while it’s hot, we say.

The design

The brainchild of British designer Terence Woodgate, the Solid Table Light has been a cult favourite at Case for quite some time, and now it’s been given a rechargeable battery in the Solid Rechargeable Table Light. But don’t worry: the jaw-dropping good looks of the original design remain, featuring a cylindrical base in fine-polished Serpentine, Nero Marquina or Carrara marble, still topped with a hand-blown opal glass shade. Only now, you don’t need to worry about plug sockets – simply charge and choose where you want to place it. Yet again, Terence continues to dazzle us.

The function

Thanks to a cordless design and a rechargeable battery, the Solid Rechargeable Table Light is a beacon of contemporary design. Whether illuminating a table at the bottom of the garden, adding a flattering glow to a dining table on the terrace, or even brightening a dark corner inside, you can shine a light on pretty much any situation. Plus, a touch dimmer provides three levels of light, perfect for dialling up and down the atmosphere.

The quote

Terence says: “I wanted to build on the success of the original Solid Table Light by giving it portability without losing its signature aesthetic. I think I’ve achieved my aim in the Solid Rechargeable Table Light.”

The verdict

As if sculpted by the gods, the Solid Rechargeable Table Light is a modern masterpiece that will offer beauty and flexibility for years to come.

The pricetag

£395 for a future design classic.
