Born in Santander, Spain in 1983, Patricia Perez studied Industrial Design Engineering and Product Design in Barcelona. Upon receiving a grant to study jewellery, she moved to Brighton and later to London where she worked as an intern for Michael Sodeau, before developing her career in product and interior design.
The design process for Perez starts by collecting images of artworks and architecture - alongside colours, materials and shapes that inspire her. Recently Perez has begun to explore pottery, enjoying the fast-paced and organic nature of creating objects from clay.
Inspired by the lighthouse in her hometown Perez has designed the Mouro Lamp for Case. A versatile light with a geometric form – Mouro’s powder-coated steel frame features an adjustable LED light with 3 dimmable settings.
Driven by a curiosity for how things are made, Perez loves to visit factories to watch the machinery and engineering process taking place. ‘I love the idea of thinking of something that doesn’t exist and making it into a reality’ says the Spanish designer.
