The Lucent Small Side Table designed by Matthew Hilton is a prime example of how he imbues his furniture with both functional necessity and feeling. It echoes explicit proportions and clean lines for an extremely adaptable piece of furniture for your home.

The detailed joining of the glass panels at right angles gives this Lucent Small Table a smart, modern and warm effect as the translucent panels overlay darken the shades. The feature of the curved edge tip and base panels made from tempered glass, makes it highly resistant to withstand the demands of family life.

The right angles of the Lucent  tables creates a detailed division inside, which can be used to display objects or store you favourite books and magazines making them easily accessible. Using a classic material, such as tempered glass, makes these sophisticated, yet delicate tables, ideal for the home or within hotels and bars.

The Lucent Small Side Table is available in a selection of three colours.

Care notes for the Lucent Small Side Table

  • Wipe the glass with a clean, dry colourless cloth.
  • Spray water or a glass cleaner on the surfaces. Keep in mind that some cleaning products will leave streaks on glass, so make sure to use one designed specifically for glass or opt for plain hot water.
  • Wipe the tabletop with a clean, dry cloth. If you find yourself with lint or dust sticking to the glass, set aside your cloth and grab some old newspaper. Crumple the newspaper into a ball and use it as you would a cloth; scrub spots on the glass and wipe repeatedly until dry.

    Returns policy

We hope you are delighted with your purchase from Case Furniture. However, if you would like to return any items or your purchase is unsuitable (certain restrictions apply), we are happy to provide a refund or exchange assuming that the goods are still in their original packaging and in a fully resaleable condition.

Your right to cancel an order for goods starts the moment you place your order and ends 14 days from the day you receive your goods. If your order consists of multiple goods, the 14 days runs form when you get the last of the batch. This 14 day period is the time you have to decide whether to cancel, you then have a further 14 days to actually send the goods back.

In order to arrange a refund, return or exchange, you will need to contact us by emailing info@casefurniture.com or call +44 (0)20 8870 4488. You will receive a reply with a returns authorisation and instructions on how to proceed with the product return.

All goods returned must be in a perfect and saleable condition with original product packaging and instructions where appropriate. If the goods do not reach us in a perfect and saleable condition, and in their original packaging, then your right to a full refund may be affected. If returning by post, the parcel and its contents are your responsibility until they are received by us. The cost of returning the goods is at your expense. This does not affect your statutory rights.

We recommend using a registered postal service and retaining the proof of postage as we may require signed proof of delivery. We are not responsible for returned goods being lost or damaged in transit.

    Restrictions

We are unable to offer a refund or exchange on gift coupons.

    Damaged/Faulty Goods

In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please email info@casefurniture.com or call +44 (0)20 8870 4488 immediately. We advise you to check your purchase as soon as it is delivered.

We will then arrange for a collection of the goods and organise a replacement to be sent out to you at the earliest opportunity.

    Wood appearance

We supply high-quality furniture grade wood. This may vary for grain, colour, knots and other markings. We do our best to select and match as appropriate but we cannot accept returns on the basis of natural variations. Any special requirements for colour, matching, etc. must be provided in writing.

Wood warpage, shrinkage, and dimensional changes

Wood is an active material, in that it is known to have dimensional changes depending upon moisture, temperature, humidity etc.

We purchase and supply furniture grade 1 wood which has been dried to correct moisture content but sometimes warpage, shrinkage etc, can still occur, especially when the furniture is shipped to drier climates from where it was made. We will accept returns if the timber was not appropriately dried but we cannot accept returns that stem from climactic differences. Should movement occur in the wood addressing issues of temperature and moisture usually resolves the issue.

    Matthew Hilton

Born in 1957, Matthew Hilton studied at Portsmouth College of Art and then at Kingston Polytechnic. After graduating he worked for Capa as an industrial designer and model maker. He then set up his own design studio/workshop in 1984. SCP was the first manufacturer to produce Hilton’s work, launching Hilton’s Bow shelves at Milan Furniture Fair in 1986.

Nineteen years on, SCP and Matthew Hilton continue to collaborate, producing seminal furniture such as the Balzac armchair, Orford sofa and Flipper coffee table to name but a few. While continuing his relationship with SCP, Hilton has gone on to work with many well respected international manufacturers including CASE, Driade, Disform, Sawaya and Moroni, XO, Montis, Perobell, Authentics, Montina, Livit and Ycami. 2007 saw the launch of Matthew Hilton’s own brand of furniture and he is now launching new designs with both CASE and SCP.

Matthew Hilton doesn't believe in design movements, and he really doesn't like the concept of design as a fashion. Rather, he thinks the design process is part of the evolution of any object through history. Designing with the end user in mind, and whether that means a household of ten or one, he takes pleasure in finding the fluid, easily adaptable solution to fit today's domestic spaces.
