About Us
Design without compromise
At Case, we believe that good design values both style and function equally, and that good design should be accessible to everyone. By utilising modern manufacturing techniques, carefully sourcing materials and working with the best minds in the business, we design everything we make with a simple ethos: to not make you choose between quality and price.
Working in collaboration with the industry’s finest
Everything in our range is created by our team of renowned designers and skilled manufacturers, who are each specialists in their fields. We carefully select our designers because they have a passion for what they do, and that passion shines through in each product they create. From the very first sketch, our process for every product is a genuine collaborative effort.
Designed and made to last
Through using only the most durable materials and by developing rigorous testing processes, we craft products to last a lifetime. We don’t make products for the sake of it. We don’t believe in the concept of design as a fashion. And we only make useful products that we’d want to own ourselves. For us creating timeless, well-made products is the ultimate form of sustainability.
Where it all started
Paul Newman graduated in 1981 with a BA Furniture degree from Hornsey College of Art, after completing a foundation course at Chelsea College of Art.
Paul began what would be an illustrious career in design in less than illustrious surroundings, launching his first business Bonomi Design in 1981 in what he described as a “pretty dismal workshop” in North London with two friends from college. They designed and made products for a variety of clients including Liberty’s, Heal’s as Ron Arad.
In 1988, the company received a grant to exhibit their range of stools and chairs at the prestigious Milan Furniture Fair. It was here that Paul met Australian retailer Aero, who had five successful stores across the country. Excited about Paul’s new collection, Aero started to produce the product range under licence.
In 1989, Paul’s entrepreneurial business acumen led to the opening of a UK franchise of Aero in Westbourne Grove, West London, selling an eclectic mix of contemporary furniture, lighting and accessories. Thirty-five percent of the collection were its own branded product, while the remaining 65% came from other international brands. With its adventurous and eclectic collection, Aero soon rose to prominence, and new investment saw Paul open a second London store on Chelsea’s prestigious King’s Road. The business expanded and by 1998, Aero was a shop, retail and wholesale business selling to high end design stores such as Heals and the Conran shop. Ahead of its time in many ways, the business also included a successful mail-order catalogue.

In 1999, Aero was sold. Paul exited the business but continued wholesaling to retailers until 2005. With more than 20 years of experience in designing, manufacturing and retailing, Paul went on to set up the eponymous design brand Case in 2005.
The motivation behind Case was simple: to create authored product at affordable prices using modern manufacturing techniques and to strategically align with a retailer in each country.
The initial product range included pieces by Matthew Hilton, Terrence Woodgate, Naz Kamali, formerly the creative director at Aero. These collections are now carried in some of the most prestigious retail stores across the world.
