Seasonal shift: get garden-ready with our contemporary outdoor furniture

By Nicky Rampley-Clarke

It’s almost time to throw open the doors and welcome friends and family for a season of entertaining al fresco. From long lunches fuelled by delicious barbecues and rosé wine to simply kicking-back with an iced-tea and a good book, the garden plays host to all kinds of occasions over the coming months, so upgrading your garden furniture is a solid – and timelyinvestment. Here, we explore why the materials and colours used to create our contemporary outdoor furniture have got you covered for a summer of fun. Finally, it’s time to take it outside.

Choose and peruse

There’s plenty of furniture to choose from when it comes to the great outdoors, from tables and chairs for dining to sofas and loungers for relaxing, so where to start? Firstly, think about how you plan to use the space, whether Friday-night soirées and weekend shindigs or simply a long summer of chilling-out – or, indeed, a combination of both. This will inform the type of furniture you need to fill it with and inspire how you zone the space accordingly. On a practical level, you’ll also need to measure the dimensions you have to play with, selecting pieces that fill generous gardens or choosing sparingly to avoid small areas feeling crammed. But more on that in our outdoor furniture buying guide.

Built to last

British summers are anything but predictable, raining one minute and sunny the next, which is why the expert craftspeople at Case make our contemporary outdoor furniture with durable materials that stay looking good whatever the weather. Blending superior functionality with sublime aesthetics, we incorporate materials such as powder-coated aluminium – the star of the show in our Eos Side Chair and Rectangular Table – and grade-A teak (seen in our Tanso 3-Seater Sofa) to produce robust yet elegant pieces that are completely weather-resistant. As one of the strongest hardwoods, teak continues to perform even when wet, while enduring high temperatures and searing heat. Better still, it’s got a high resistance to rotting thanks to natural oils that retain the integrity of the timber. Likewise, powder-coated aluminium is great for the garden, being lightweight (so it can be easily moved around) and corrosion-resistant (no rust, no fuss).

A natural palette

When it comes to choosing the colours for our range of outdoor furniture, we always make it easy with a spectrum of natural shades that blend seamlessly into your garden, whether rustic woods, stone-like greys, Ibiza whites, charcoal blacks or warm rusts. After all, we’re firm believers that you should let the form of beautiful furniture do the talking, while allowing the natural greenery and lushness of outside frame your pieces. Not only that, but the hues we use have been handpicked to mask the inevitable dirt and mud from outside, while complementing the style of our indoor furniture to create a seamless indoor/outdoor flow.

Whatever pieces you’re planning for your garden – and whatever style goes with your scheme – rest assured that Case has got you covered by creating pieces that are as ready for the new season as you are. Bring on the sun.
