Mรฉris marks the first collaboration between Case and Italian architect and designer Monica Armani, bringing her distinctive approach to proportion, form and function to a new sofa and armchair collection.
Rooted in the principles of Italian rationalism, Monica began her career in her fatherโs architectural studio, developing a design language grounded in structural clarity and precision. Today, her approach is expressed through a philosophy she calls โDesign in Moleculesโ, where every element is considered in relation to the whole.
โVision and Function, Enchantment and Technology, Creativity and Innovation coexist and balance one another in every project,โ Monica explains. This balance between precision and emotion is central to Mรฉris, her first collection for Case.

Inspired by the sea
Mรฉris takes its name from mer, the French word for sea, and draws inspiration from the movement and duality of the ocean: at once calm and powerful, fluid and constant.
The starting point was the movement of the sea. I didnโt want to represent a wave literally, but rather to translate its fluidity into a continuous, enveloping gesture.
This idea is expressed through generous volumes, soft curves and the uninterrupted line connecting the backrest and armrests. The collection has a strong presence, while retaining a sense of softness and ease.
โI wanted to create a collection with a distinctive presence in the space, one that invites you to let yourself go with the same natural ease as being embraced by the sea.โ

Rigour meets softness
Mรฉris reflects the balance between architectural precision and sensitivity that characterises Monicaโs work. Clean lines and carefully considered proportions give structure to the design, while curves and generous upholstery create a more relaxed, enveloping form.
I am drawn to pure lines, but also to the softness that embraces. Structure and comfort are not opposites, but parts of the same design gesture.
For Monica, the success of a design lies not in any single feature, but in the relationship between its many details. In Mรฉris, this can be seen in the continuity of the profile, the stitching that follows its curves and the proportions that allow its generous volume to feel balanced.
โI often speak about an โequation of detailsโ: the sum of all the smallest elements, visible and invisible, coordinated in perfect balance.โ

Enduring Design
While distinctive in form, Mรฉris was designed first and foremost to be lived with. As the sofa increasingly becomes a place for relaxing, gathering and spending time together, Monica believes it should have a clear identity without dominating the space around it.
โA sofa must engage in dialogue with its surroundings, but above all with the people who inhabit it. It should be strong in its identity and natural in the way it welcomes.โ
This emphasis on longevity and considered design closely reflects Caseโs own approach to creating furniture intended to remain relevant beyond passing trends.
I do not pursue the noise of novelty, but the quiet of things well made, things capable of remaining relevant season after season.
