Care Instructions

Made from powder coated steel and stone or Teak Top, the Campus outdoor table range is durable, rustproof and low maintenance. Regular periodic care and cleaning is recommended over occasional heavy-duty maintenance.
We recommend that the product is covered when not in use and during extreme weather conditions to prolong the finish of the product and reduce the amount of cleaning required.

Steel Frame
The table frame is finished in a hardwearing powder coat and has been treated prior to this with anti rust treatment.
Cleaning:
• Use a sponge / soft bristle brush with a cleaning solution of mild liquid soap and lukewarm water.
• The use of abrasive cleaners should be avoided.
• Rinse and dry thoroughly for best finish.
Caution: In seaside use, salt can accumulate on the finish which may lead to surface damage. In indoor pool areas, chlorides can accumulate on the finish which may lead to surface damage.

Stone Top
Granite care:
• Wipe up spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth.
• Avoid alkaline or acidic liquids, as they can break down the protective sealant on granite surfaces.
• Apply protective pads to the undersides of items being displayed on the stone surfaces to avoid leaving marks or scratches and it is advised to use coasters to avoid any water marks or stains appearing on the surface.
• Avoid putting extremely hot dishes directly on the surface.
• Avoid placing the table where there are extremes of heat as
granite will contract and expand. Also if placed in direct sunlight the granite may fade with time.
• Avoid dropping items onto the top and be careful with objects on the edge of the table as this may cause chips and cracks.
Cleaning:
• Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to dust stone surfaces regularly.
• For routine cleaning, use a mixture of warm water and a couple of drops of a mild dish soap. Dampen the cloth or sponge with the solution and wring it out well before wiping the marble.
• After cleaning with soap, rinse the surface with a cloth dampened in clean water to remove any soap residue.
• Immediately dry the surface with a soft, dry cloth to prevent water spots and streaks.
• Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they can scratch the stone's surface.
• Avoid ammonia, bleach and highly alkaline or acidic cleaners.

Wood Top
Teak care:
Teak is a durable timber with a high oil and resin content, this means it is ideal for outdoor furniture, requiring little amounts of care to keep looking its best. Over time, the Teak will start to change colour going from a rich golden colour to silver-grey. This is natural and does not reflect the quality of the wood or its durability but is down to a purely aesthetic change.

Cleaning:
If you are looking to get the timber back to its original appearance you could lightly sand the whole product to remove the top (silver/grey) layer of timber. If you do use this method, please take extra care not to over sand or damage details of the product by flattening off when sanding.
Proprietary Teak oil can also be applied to help maintain the original finish – however please test on a small part of the product that is not seen (i.e., underside of the table slats) before using as some teak oils can darken the appearance. There are also specific teak cleaning products available, we would recommend the Osmo Wood Reviver Gel as a good way to restore the product to its original finish.
Caution: It is not recommended to use a pressure washer when cleaning teak furniture as it can damage the surface of the teak furniture.

Matthew Hilton furniture is built in the belief of creating furniture that people live with. His inspiration often comes from long-established furniture forms. He doesn’t believe in design movements, and he really doesn’t like the concept of design as a fashion.
