Designed in London and handwoven in India the Eleanor Pritchard Rugs range features the Eleanor Pritchard trademark graphic patterns inspired by London’s architectural lines and draws its name from a structure found on construction sites across the city.

Rick Rack Rug by Eleanor Pritchard

“I have always loved playing with colour and pattern. My work often has a mid-century quality and I feel a strong affinity for the aesthetics and design philosophy of this era. Alongside this runs a deep interest in vernacular British textiles and I see much of my work as a re-interpretation of these traditions and techniques for a contemporary audience.”

Known most for her fabric and upholstery designers, this is the first time that Eleanor Pritchard has designed a rug collection. With a colour palette based on warm and dark greys, sea greens and petrol blues, Purlin beautifully reflects the urban landscape in a clean and contemporary way. Purlin is a horizontal beam along the length of a roof, resting on principals and supporting the common rafters or boards.

Cotton Winding Workshop with Eleanor Pritchard

Renowned British textile designer Eleanor Pritchard shares hints and tips on her design processes, including a hands-on cotton winding technique, to mark the launch of her new Purlin rug for Case. This workshop is an opportunity to engage with the design processes used by Eleanor Pritchard in the development of her textiles. There will be opportunity to ask Eleanor questions about her designs, after which she will show you how to create your own small textile swatch moodboard in the form of a yarn winding to take home. Eleanor Pritchard is a textile designer who plays with colour and pattern to create mid-century inspired designs. Working from a bright and sunny studio in South London, each collection or project starts with a storyboard, the colour, pattern and texture developing into a high quality woven product all made in the UK.
